WCAHS would like to thank Snags Sports Bar and everyone who helped make the 2016 "Critter Benefit" a huge success! Whether it was a donation, helping out or participating that day, we never could have raised the over $2,200.00 without all those involved! There were amazing items in both the silent auction and Chinese raffle! There was continuous fun with the ring toss game and lets not forget the meat raffle! Despite the rainy day, the great food and great people made it an all around great day for everyone! Thank you Nancy for doing this now for 4 years!! Your love for the animals is very clear by all you do for Washburn County Area Humane Society!
Our Tree of Lights event was held on December 1, 2015, at the shelter. We had a nice group of people stop by including some of the WCAHS board members and all of the WCAHS staff. There were drawings for prizes, food and refreshments for everyone to enjoy. Over $3000.00 has been raised so far from people sending in donations in honor or in memory of their pets. It is clear that we love our animals very much and they are indeed, part of our families! Here are a few pictures from last night. One of our staff's son Conner did the honors of "lighting up" the tree! Thanks to everyone who brought or baked something for the event and to all of you so generously donated to make this years tree lighting truly successful!
We work at the Department of Transportation Divisions of State Patrol and Transportation System Development in Spooner and are part of a workplace challenge called “Cram the Cruiser.” This initiative honors our Division of State Patrol K-9 Unit with a food and supplies drive for animals in shelters throughout the state. Each team chooses a K-9 sponsor and a rescue organization, and competes with other teams to gather donated items that will “cram a cruiser.”
The K-9 for our region is named Rocky, and on his behalf and in honor of Nero, the K9 for the NW Region who we recently lost to cancer, we are donating food and supplies to help the animals in your care at WCAHS. We hope that our efforts make life a little easier for the cats, dogs, rabbits and others who reside in your shelter while you help them find permanent homes. Thanks for all you do in support of animals. Sincerely, K-9 Rocky and Department of Transportation Divisions of State Patrol and Transportation System Development, Spooner, WI |
