WCAHS PET CEMETERY
This is our pet cemetery at the shelter. Years ago we had hoped to find a small piece of land in the city to create a pet cemetery for the public but was unable to find a place that would work. With the help of different people through the years, we cleared out a part of the woods on our property. We made a pathway which we continue to work on along with adding plants and solar lights in the summer to create an attractive, peaceful place for people to visit and the animals to ...forever rest. You can see some of the headstones someone made for us. We hope to get similar ones made for all the animals here. Some of the animals that rest here were personal pets of those who worked at WCAHS, pets of people who had no where to go with them after the pet passed away, and some who were very special animals loved by staff members that never made it out of the shelter due to severe health issues such as cancer. We someday hope to get some fencing to go around the entire cemetery and also make a memory path with stone or bricks that have the animals name on it leading up to the cemetery
