Hi,

We adopted Jackson (aka Jaxx) earlier this year.  He is doing very well and is quite a pup.  I am attaching two recent pictures of him and one older picture where he is playing with our 12 year old springer Ally.  He is really a great dog and we are so happy that we were able to adopt him.  Thank you.

Hello,
I want to start by thanking you for being such wonderful people through the adoption process. Mimzy's name has been changed to Rigby and he was microchipped yesterday! We absolutely love him! He has been such a great fit for the family. He has been trying to brave the cats and play with them and learns new things each day. He comes to work with me and is just such a good boy everywhere he goes. He has a growing collection of squeaky toys! He is a character and a perfect snuggler. He loves everyone he meets and makes new friends everyday :) I love him so much and am so grateful for finding him. I included a picture of him and his blanket in the car, him at work with me being a very good boy with all his toys, as well as him attempting to play with my kitty monkey :) thank you again from the bottom of my heart! He really is perfect! Hope this reaches you as this is the only email address I could find.

Happy family :)

I adopted a dog from you named Mandy a few months ago in February after my 21 year old dog died in January and I wanted to give a quick update. Everything is great and she's a wonderful dog, I love her to pieces. She's currently curled up in a ball at the foot of my bed as a write this. I've attached a few photos so you can see how truly happy we are together.

Thank you all so much for this wonderful addition, I really couldn't imagine living without a dog and adoption was the perfect option.

She really is given the royal treatment for her golden years :)

Hi!

We adopted our dog Diesel from you some time ago so I don't know if anyone there will remember him, but even if no one does, I know how good it is to hear that they actually went to a good home. You took in Diesel's mom (a pregnant rotweiller/lab mix) sometime in May or June of 2009 and she had a litter of maybe 5 puppies. We adopted about an eight week old Diesel in August. I remember seeing his mom on your adoption site for a while after we got him and I always wished we could have taken her as well. Anyways, I want to thank you guys for giving me my first real canine companion. He has taught me so much in the last 4 years and life wouldn't be the same without him. I hope his brothers, sisters and mom all found good homes.

Enjoy the pictures! Hopefully someone there remembers him.

Sincerely,

Leanna Diehl

Hi WCAHS!

We adopted our family member from you about a year and a half ago and it was the best decision we ever made! "Tan Pup" was one of the puppies found in the lock box by the side of the road with his mates...

"Tan Pup" still gets called that name when he is being especially precious, putting his ears back just like his petfinder picture... Most of the time, we just call him by name, Deacon. How many times we've heard, "He's just a good ol' dog!"

He is sweet and loving and full of wonderful (obedient) energy! Deacon comes with us everywhere and is especially fond of the North Shore and the GIANT driftwood sticks he begs us to throw! Fetch of any kind is the best part of his day, next to eating, and treats, oh and snuggle time on the couch!

Thanks for giving him such a great start and being there for all the other furry critters that are looking for their homes! I've attached several pictures so you can see just what a happy dawg he is...

Keep it up, many thanks and big slobbery hound kisses!

Anna, Scott & Deacon!

Update from Becky Payne on Bandit, who was donated to Nature's Edge a year ago.

I wanted to let everyone know that yesterday; Bandit (at one year of age) was tested at the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley for the Registered Pet Partner Evaluation. The Pet Partner organization was formally the Delta Society located in Bellevue, Washington. They are the only organization with a set of Standards for accrediting animals/handlers and have initiated since the 1990's providing training/testing as pet partner teams into hospitals, nursing homes and schools to name a few through rigorous testing and training. Most dogs are not registered until minimally the age of 2 years. Bandit has now completed with myself a Registered Pet Partner certification through Pet Partners as well as being a READ team.

"Pet Partners' Therapy Animal Program trains volunteers and screens volunteers and their pets for visiting animal programs in hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, schools and other facilities.

The program was established in 1990 to ensure that "both ends of the leash,"people as well as animals, were well-prepared to participate in animal-assisted activity and animal-assisted therapy programs. Pet Partners'

Therapy Animal Program is the only national registry that requires volunteer training and screening of animal-handler teams.

Pet Partners' national network links volunteers with facilities in their own communities that request visiting pets and helps volunteer teams contact facilities to begin visits in new locations." www.petpartners.org

Great news about Max!!!  Max became a certified "Service Dog" on April 10, 2012.  Max helps our family with our "special needs" even though he only has three legs himself!  Max rides in the child seat of the shopping carts, gets a lot of exercise walking and has a stroller for full days out or long walks.  Max is very content being able to go with us everywhere.  Max and Jake (our Yorkie) are best buddies and a wonderful service dog team!  Neal and I would like to thank WCAHS for allowing us to adopt Max and give him a job to do along with having the special privilege of being able to see everything the world has to offer...

Thanks and God Bless- Max, Neal & Tammy and Jake

PS:  We are happy to share our story along with doing anything to help pets find good homes and educate people on service dogs plus the abilities of dogs from humane societies, even handicapped animals! Even with 3 legs, Max does wonderful and he lets me handle him when Neal has to step out as he's totally a "Daddy's boy!"  Max does fine in public since hel's learned the when he's working he isn't allowed to bark however people are allowed to pet him so he thinks everyone is his friend!

We wanted to give you an update on Ernie! We adopted him back in February and he has been an absolute wonderful addition to our family. He’s adjusted extremely well. He has not stopped purring since we bought him home. The first day he was with us he was already running around and playing with his sister, Allie (our 6 yr. old cat). They get along so well; they love to play and nap together! He definitely has a big personality. Whether it’s cleaning his litter box, folding laundry or cooking dinner he has to “help” with everything. And he can be quite mischievous at times! Anything and everything that moves is a toy to him, including his own shadow! We recently discovered he loves to play fetch and play with water in the sink! We love him so very much and are so grateful we were able to adopt him! Thank you all again J

Hi!

I don’t know how many people are there that remember Zhooniyaa…the dog you raised the money for a cruciate surgery on before adopting her out.
I thought you might like to see the memorial for her I put on a photo sharing site.
She had a great life with us and was dearly loved. Unfortunately she had multiple skin masses through out her life.  Most of them were benign but at the end they started to be more frequent and looked nasty.  It was a bit difficult to get a diagnosis but we finally found out that she had hemangiosarcoma….which eventually spread through out her body pretty much.  We were able to keep her pain free and eating and she loved spending time with the family until the end. It left a big hole in our life and it has just now become possible to look at her photos with fond memories.

Silky--Here's some shots of kitty with the doggies. We still haven't renamed him. Leaning towards Boots. He's an energetic cat that loves sleeping in laps. There's nothing he won't do for a little bit of moist food. Give him a little catnip and he's racing up and down our stairs. He's so fast that I can't imagine how he'd be with 4 legs!

Cosmo/Duke--My boyfriend and I adopted Cosmo from your shelter in November.  In November we re-named him Duke, he has been such a wonderful addition to our family.  He cuddles with us every night and plays with his sister Jaeda every day.  We take walks in the park near our house, make visits to the dog park and go out to my grandparents farm to run in the open yard and see the farm animals.  Attached are some updated pictures of Duke, he is a very happy healthy puppy and growing very fast!  He recently upgraded to a big boy collar.

Thank you again for everything you do for all of your animals at your organization.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Ingvalson, Brad Evans and Duke "Cosmo" Evans.

Kirby--Just wanted to send you all a little note to tell you that Jameson (who now goes by Kirby) is doing great! He's been responding to his new name already. Kirby is getting used to going outside and he LOVES the snow. That was a big surprise! He sleeps snuggled up with my 5 year old daughter at night and spends his day playing with my 6 year old son and napping in whatever lap is available. Our very cautious cat seems to be warming up to him and no longer runs away whenever he enters a room.
We also adopted Buddy from your shelter last year. He's doing fantastic as well.

Gage--Just wanted to let you know that things are going great with Dad & Sadie (formerly Gage). They are bonding very well. She follows him everywhere he goes in the house & she's waiting by the door when he comes back from running errands. I've attached a pic of them on the couch together. Dad said it's the first time she's done that! Thanks again for taking good care of Sadie until she could meet her forever family. I know she will provide untold comfort & companionship for my Dad for many years to come.

Muggy--Hello Everyone-
I am writing you to update you on how I am doing!!  It has been 2 1/2 years since you have found me my forever home.  I am doing wonderful, I have  a loving home that I am so happy in.  I have a sister named Chloe who is a pitbull mix, I have two little girls who love me very much, and my mom and dad who spoil me rotten!  I also get to do all my favorite things like run around the yard and go for long walks I have lots of toys and my own place on the end of my owner's bed.  I want to thank you so much for finding the perfect forever home that I deserved.  You will always be so special to me and I am forever greatful.

Love Always and Forever

Muggy

Chopper--I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS DOG!!!! He is just the best boy!!  The cats, for the most part, are adjusting well. My shy kitties are having a hard time, but I am thinking of ways to make sure they are coming out to eat & get some mommy time. :-)

I had my parents meet him on Christmas Eve.  Having no idea I was adopting Chopper, they were shocked & a little upset-I do have five cats, after all.... Literally after about six minutes after they met him, my dad asked if I thought Chopper would like going to the cabin with him.

He spent Christmas day at my parents' house. He was the the best Christmas boy!! He loves my dad, and my dad loves him, but that could be said for everyone.  He made the rounds and got pets & kisses from everyone.  Even my brother, who was skeptical about Chopper being a "pit bull," was laying on the floor petting & kissing him by the end of the night.

I hope this email finds you well, and that both you & your families had a wonderful holiday and the new year brings health, happiness and many pet adoptions!

Spooner--Attached are pictures of our puppy, Spooner.  We love her so much!

She went to puppy kindergarten and was top in the class for learning tricks, yet she was one of the most aggressive as far as playing with the other puppies.  She loves to play!  She loves kids, too!  She’s just kind of crazy yet.

Bella--Sorry it's taken me so long to update you on Flower.

On our way back to Minnesota w/our new bundle, I renamed her Bella, my husband calls her Furball. She's so sweet/friendly, she even puts up with the grand kids.

Since she was spayed last month, she no longer has  accidents outside her litterbox, so she now has the run of the house, she's loving it!! When we are home her cage door is open for her to go in/out as she wants. She loves running down the hallway and back, and everywhere in between. From all her running she now weighs a little over 3 lbs.

In the morning, when I'm in the kitchen she will usually come running to me for her slice of banana, her favorite treat!

We're so happy we have her as part of our family, she brings us alot of joy & amusement.

Keep up your good work w/all the animals you care for, have a great day!

Sincerely,
